OctoStudio Sharing Guidelines

OctoStudio Sharing Guidelines

OctoStudio is for everyone. With OctoStudio, people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, and identities can express themselves creatively. Here are ways you can help us create a welcoming environment:

  • Celebrate Difference: Be kind, supportive, and curious when giving feedback or commenting on other people’s projects and ideas.

  • Embrace Learning: We’re all learning here! Try new things, experiment, and share your progress along the way.

  • Express Yourself: We welcome you to create projects that are personally meaningful and joyful to you. What type of projects would you want to make?

Have fun with OctoStudio, and help others have fun too! If you’re looking for inspiration, check out our YouTube page for project ideas and helpful tips.

Sharing Projects With Other People

There are lots of ways to share a project with people who you know (FAQ: How can I share my OctoStudio projects?). We hope that you are excited to share your creations with others! Whether you share by email or a messaging app, it’s a good idea to check with family or caregivers before sharing.

Posting Projects Online

If you are at least 13 years old, you can share projects publicly using social media apps like YouTube. For your safety, we strongly advise that you not publicly share any personal information, including videos and/or pictures of your face, locatable images or details about where you live, the name of your school, your last name, or your full birthday.

Submitting Projects to the OctoStudio Team

The OctoStudio team loves to include community-created projects in compilation videos. For your project to be included in our compilations, make sure the project is appropriate for all ages, respectful of others' perspectives, and doesn't contain any of the following:

  • Music, sounds, and logos that you don’t have permission to use

  • Personal identifiable information, such as a picture of you, your full name, or places where you live or visit

  • Violent images, words, or actions

  • Bullying or making fun of people
